HARVESTING A BRIGHTER TOMORROW

A prolonged drought has wreaked havoc on much of Uganda. Food shortages and starvation are facing much of the country. After visiting many of our Lwakisa families, we began to see a pattern. Most, if not all of our families, dream of land so that they can grow crops to feed their families. But the land is hard to come by, and many of our widows and single mothers do not own their own land. A local member of our Lwakisa Ministries team has graciously allowed the families of Lwakisa to join in planting on their family land.

Together, we are developing a plan so that twice a year, during planting season, the women can all come together as a team and harvest crops on this land. This will provide food for each of the families taking part in this program or income if they choose to sell the crops from their portion.

Lwakisa Ministries is working to find donors to make this project flourish for families. Costs include the seeds, tools, equipment, fertilizers, and the cost of transporting the women to and from the land.
