OUR MISSION
Our mission is twofold – love God and love people. We exist to glorify Christ by creating a Christ-centered ministry that will first and foremost, point vulnerable women and children to develop a relationship with Christ.
Meet Mariah Kabanda
Mariah is the local Director for Lwakisa Ministries. We feel very blessed to have the ministry locally led by such a wonderful woman with the heart to serve others and follow her calling of serving the Lord. Mariah worked as a caretaker and supervisor for seven years at the Hope Center of Uganda (an orphanage for abused, abandoned, and neglected children).
Create and Sustain Healthy Families
We believe in empowering individuals, families, and the community at large. We believe that when basic human needs are met, families are in a better position to care for, protect and raise their children.
Educate and Empower
Through our school sponsorship program, we not only meet the educational needs of the children but also alleviate some of the financial strain on the family. Education is proven to release children from poverty.
Discipleship
We work to see that each woman and child is fed spiritually and restored into a solid relationship with God. Each member of Lwakisa is answering the call of Jesus to go and make disciples in our endeavor to regularly show the love of Jesus and disciple the women and children we serve.

That witchcraft still practiced in Uganda? In fact, it is growing rapidly across the country. Witchcraft traditionally involves sacrificing animals, but now, witch doctors are claiming that their work is more powerful when you sacrifice a child's blood.

A number of our Lwakisa Ministries families have been affected by witchcraft either personally or they know someone who has.
•
The main reason behind witchcraft is a result of poverty and disease. People are desperate and willing to do nearly anything to change their situation.
